Tarot Tuesday: Seven of Swords

Todays tarot card of the week is the Seven of Swords. This Seven of Swords is from the Night Sun Tarot Deck (currently my only deck). This card traditionally symbolizes the thief, and here it might contain the same connotation. Looking into the card you can see that the knight is sitting with his legs crossed in a common meditation pose, his back to the rocks, his seven swords spread out in front of him. The swords are pointed out in a display of protection. He stares into the orb held in his left hand, as though scrying, or perhaps so as to not let it out of his sight.

To me this card symbolized a need for constant vigilance this week. So as to protect myself from theft.. perhaps physical, but perhaps (and probably most likely) theft of intellectual property or of praise due to me. I will definitely need to keep my guard up!

Hope everyone has a good week!

Monday Musings: Cord Short

The cord shorted out for my laptop... and, after some confusion with a replacement, it should be here tomorrow or Wednesday. So, I will make all of the back posts (for last week) at that time!

Hope everyone had a good holiday weekend (in America) and otherwise a great weekend!

Sunday Funday: Park Day

Today, Lilith and I woke up early, so we decided to go to the park! The park near our house has a great walking path with lots of Pokemon Stops, and beautiful landscaping! I caught lots of bug Pokemon, and got exercise that was much needed! Lilith also loved being able to run around without getting in trouble!

Here are a couple of pictures:

You can tell that I'm not a huge fan of the sun!

Hope everyone has a great week!

Series Saturday: Gothic Tarot by Anne Stokes & Lo Scarabeo/Fournier

The final tarot deck I would like to purchase (as part of this series anyways), is the Gothic Tarot Series by Anne Stokes. The artwork is truly beautiful, and most definitely captures Gothic Romanticism. I feel like I would definitely look at these cards a lot!

If you are also interested in purchasing this deck, here is a link to an Amazon sale page:

Fashion Friday: New Hair

This week I finally got my hair fixed! I like this new color, as it is darker (I've been missing my black A LOT lately). It was also steam treated with an awesome oil treatment thingy! So it's uber soft now!

Tarot Tuesday: CANCELLED

The Tarot Tuesday post for this week, unfortunately, did not get done. With this being tied in heavily to what is actually going on for the week, I feel that trying to force a card drawing is not a good idea. So, instead I will post pictures of some pretty cool tarot cards:

This has actually helped me find more decks that I would like to purchase! Sweeeet!

Monday Musings: Crunch Time

So, it is definitely getting down to crunch time with getting ready for my in-laws to visit. I'm definitely starting to go into panic mode about the money thing mainly. This endeavor is definitely going to cost me a pretty penny. Not only that, but I can't seem to get organized.. And to top it all off, we're having a spot of trouble getting a concrete plan for sleeping arrangements. I know it is all going to be okay, but I can't help but feel panicky. Hopefully everything will come together in the end!

Wish me luck!

Sunday Funday: Exploring Hutchinson

So we did a little exploring in a town near where we live, called Hutchinson, Kansas (USA). We found this really cool old building out by the grain storage part of town. It is dated 1908, and I think it was bart of some grain refinery business. It was definitely super awesome and creepy! Especially since the day was kind of gloomy!

Almost time for the work week again! Oh, well!

Series Saturday: Halloween Tarot by Kipling West

Another deck I would love to have is the The Halloween Tarot deck by Kipling West and Karin Lee. The illustrations on this deck are amazing, and the minor arcana uses symbols different than those of traditional Rider-Waite-Smith decks. I feel like I would probably use this deck a lot, particularly in September through November. They make me feel very nostalgic!

Tarot Tuesday: Knight of Swords

The tarot card of the week is the Knight of Swords from the Night Sun Tarot Deck. This card shows the Knight of Swords ready to charge headfirst over the edge of a cliff (how big of a drop, we don't know... could be short, could be long). His sword is raised in readiness, the sky shines bright, but clouds can be seen moving into the picture. This card is definitely a card of action, perhaps actions you must take, or will take without knowing. Perhaps a sort of cosmic inertia that one doesn't see immediately. Perhaps this is a sign to not think too much, but to act on my instincts.. even if the outcome might seem grim! I think I will definitely be taking this into consideration when moving forward with this week!

Hope everyone has a great week!

Monday Musings: Trying to Remember

So, todays musings are pretty boring. I don't have a lot of time to post today, but had a topic that I found interesting to think about:

Blogging, Remembering to take Photos, and Still Having Fun!

To me, this is the most difficult part of blogging, and the reason I feel I will have trouble transitioning to vlogging. I find it incredibly hard to remember to take photos or video, when I'm having so much fun. I think that this is something I definitely need to work on, because I constantly find myself having to change my plans for blog posts or videos, because I went to do something awesome, and totally forgot to take any photos or videos. I'm always super bummed out afterwards, and beat myself up about it a bit.

I know that it is awesome that I'm experiencing these things and not getting distracted by a camera. But I also would love to share these things with you guys.. So, to make it short. This is something I definitely plan to work on, and hope to bringing more creative, original content to this blog (and possibly my youtube channel) soon!

Sunday Funday: Mother's Day Celebration

Yesterday, my mother and I took a little road trip to celebrate Mother's day. I had scheduled an hour long mother-daughter massage as a gift for her birthday/mother's day, and we also decided to have lunch with margaritas! It was a super fun, awesome day!

We had too much fun, and I forgot to take photos, so here are some downloaded photos from the internet from the places we went (links to credit for photos at bottom of post):

Bohemia Healing Spa is where we had our massages, and was super amazing! The bohemian vibe definitely comes across, and the place felt very warm and inviting. The room for our massage was small and cozy, with a dim ambiance lighting and a really comforting smell and music. The therapists definitely know what they are doing, and an hour could have gone on forever, but ended up seeming too short (it definitely was an hour though, I checked! lol). I would definitely recommend 10/10!

For lunch we decided to go to Margarita's, which I had been to as a kid, but definitely hadn't been to in over 11 years. I remembered the place as soon as we stepped inside, and immediately felt at home! Other than the building being a little chilly, it was a really good experience!

We ordered margaritas, of course; my mom got peach, and I got strawberry! They were definitely good! Just strong enough, but also sweet and delicious! (We got frozen, not on the rocks though!)

And for our lunch, we both wanted to order the same thing, so we decided to share! Sour cream enchiladas with grilled tilapia! It was suuuuuper delicious! (I've actually decided that this is where I would like to go for my birthday next year!)

Anyways, it was definitely a great day spent with my mom! And in the evening I got to cuddle with my super cute little daughter! Great mother's day weekend!

Series Saturday: Tarot Mucha by Lo Scarabeo

The Tarot Deck I would like to talk about this week is the Mucha Tarot deck by Lo Scarabeo, Lunaea Weatherstone, Massimiliano Filadoro, and Giulia F. Massaglia. The deck pays homage to the art nouveau movement, and most specifically to the style of Czech artist Alphonse Mucha. The artwork is very beautiful and delicate with the trademark nouveau filigree. I have wanted this deck for a very long time, as this style of art is one of my favorites from history!

If you are also interested in purchasing this deck, here is a link to the Amazon store page: https://www.amazon.com/Mucha-Tarot-Lo-Scarabeo/dp/0738745588/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1494616911&sr=8-1&keywords=tarot+mucha

Fashion Friday: Alexander McQueen

I was rather lazy today, and did not put makeup on for work. So, I am going to spare you an OOTD where I look horrid, and instead share with you one of my favorite designers.

Alexander McQueen, is a very famous designer, having worked with many designers and celebrities over his career. His designs are some of my most favorites, due to the fantastical and ethereal nature of his designs. Much of his runway fashion having elements of fantasy and whimsy, as well as some very interesting daily wear. He is a major icon, and it was sad that he died so tragically in 2010.

If you would like to know more about his life and his accomplishments, check out the wikipedia page about him: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Alexander_McQueen

Here are a few photos of his designs:
